In 2006 they ran third, followed by fourth place a year later and a losing grand final against Thomson in 2008. The Panthers’ only previous senior grade grand final appearance had been achieved exactly twenty seasons earlier when they lost by a couple of goals to Lara. Flags have been won in the GDFL’s other grades, with the reserves going top in 1994 and 2000 and the under eighteens in 1981, 1989 and 1992. The current all round strength of the club is amply evidenced by the feat of both the seniors and reserves reaching their respective grand finals in 2008 with the under eighteens also qualifying for the finals for an ultimate finishing position of fourth.
