5.  Football Information Sites

Aboriginal Football - A comprehensive site by Darren Moncrieff which deals with the records, stats and history of the contributions made by indigenous Australians to the national game.

Australian Rules - A site with a predominantly Western Australian focus, but with an increasing amount of other material as well, produced by Les Everett, author of 'Gravel Rash: 100 years of Goldfields Football'.  Philosophically, this site shares a similar standpoint to Full Points Footy, as a quick perusal of its 'Manifesto' will confirm.

Blueseum - Great name, great site, providing an encyclopedic look at all aspects of the Carlton Football Club.

www.countryfooty.com.au - Up to the minute SA country footy scores, news and reports.

www.george.doig.com.au - A site devoted to the former East Fremantle champion, George Doig, with information as well about various other members of the Doig clan.  The site is compiled and maintained by George Doig's grandson, Steve Doig.

Easty's World of Football Records - The title says its all: a site devoted to one of football's longest running and most important publications, the V/AFL's match day magazine, 'Football Record' .

www.footyjumpers.com - A comprehensive visual record of every jumper ever worn by all current and former V/AFL clubs.

Footystats - Arguably the internet's most detailed and authoritative statistical footy site. Contains a comprehensive diary of football-related events, which is updated daily.  Site visitors can also subscribe to a free, emailed news service.

FootySA - Provides comprehensive, up to the minute coverage of the SANFL, plus information about other football in South Australia.  Immeasurably better and more detailed than most official League sites.

Footy Talk - The world's first Australian football podcast.

Footy Trends - An online AFL football tipping and punting portal that strives to bring you all the latest information and statistics to help pick the winners each week in Australian football matches.

Legends of SANFL - A real treat for lovers of South Australian footy down the years, this site pays tribute to many of the great - and some not so great - players and coaches to have graced the SANFL since the 1950s.

Phil's World - Contains regularly updated results information for virtually every senior football competition in Australia.  Easily the best and most comprehensive resource of its kind - highly recommended.

Premiership Coach - The website of a new, soon to be launched football coaching/management simulation, devised by Adam Wight.

Rave AFL - A lively and popular fan site.

Ren's Footy Links - An exhaustive and well arranged links resource - highly recommended.

Ross Smith's Sport And History Site - Contains a growing football section, which includes information about Tasmanian involvement in interstate carnivals, NTFA season summaries, intrastate and Tasmanian representative football, and more.  You can navigate directly to this section of Ross's site by clicking here; alternatively, the main link takes you to the general home page which features links to details about cricket and Tasmanian history, as well as football.

Roy Cazaly Football Foundation - Website explaining the Foundations raison d'être, as well as providing details of Robert Allen's Roy Cazaly Biography project.

Simulated League Football - On line, interactive footy management at its best.

Talking Footy - News, results, injury information, team details etc. for all four major football codes in Australia.

Tasmanian Football Legends - An incredibly detailed and highly informative site devoted to the many great footballers produced or who played in the Apple Isle over the years.

World Footy News - Devoted to the burgeoning international development of the game.

6. Recommended Non-Football Sites

Adobe - Australian portal for Adobe products, including the free Adobe Reader that you will need in order to view the PDF files on this site.

Bravenet - A plethora of tools and resources for website designers and programmers.  Many of these tools and resources are available free of charge.

BBC Music Homepage - Still, in my opinion, home to the best and most varied radio stations on the planet.

Hansom Pilot - An unashamed plug for my sister's band's site - well worth a visit if you like your music brisk, clever and so catchy it should have a government health warning stamped on it. A single, Gotta Get Outta Here, was released earlier this year, and the band's recently recorded debut album will be out soon. Of tangential interest, perhaps, to readers of Full Points Footy, the band's lead singer, Bianca Denham, hails from Adelaide, although the band is based in London.

TimeandDate.com - Need to know the time in another part of the world?  This site offers a free desktop utility for doing just that.  (Invaluable for someone based in the UK authoring a website with predominantly Australian content, for instance!)
