This continually evolving
section will eventually include detailed summary records for all club
competitions covered in the site, as well as comprehensive information about
interstate club competitions.
The Premiership
Placings section (previously called 'Ladder Positions') lists all of the
final premiership positions and grand final scores for the V/AFL, SANFL, WAFL,
SAFL and ACTAFL. Data for other leagues will be added in due course.
The Summary Charts list each
season's premiers, competition best and fairest award winners, and leading
goalkickers.
The Championship
of Australia section provides details of all matches held to determine the
champion club in the land prior to the inception of the AFL.
The WA
State Premiership page lists all the results from this short-lived series
involving the premiership teams of the WAFA/WAFL and GFA/GFL.
The Tasmanian
State Premiership section provides details of all matches conducted in this
long-running series which began in 1909, and ended sixty-nine years later.
The V/AFL
Night Series and Pre-Season Competition section lists grand final scores for
all such official V/AFL competitions, as does the SANFL
equivalent.
The Rothmans
Channel 7 Cup was a mini-series conducted in Perth in 1971 to commemorate
the career of Graham 'Polly' Farmer. It involved 4 clubs from the WANFL
and 2 each from the VFL and SANFL.
The NFL
Wills Cup took place in 1976 when it was envisaged as a prototype for a
future, full-scale interstate club competition. It involved a total of 12
clubs: 5 from the VFL, 4 from the SANFL, and 3 from the WANFL.
A total of seven V/AFL
Lightning Premiership competitions have been conducted to date, in 1940,
1941, 1943, 1951-2-3 and 1996.
The Extracurricular
Matches section is an ever-expanding resource listing important matches
played over the years that fall outside the normal framework of league and
interstate competition.
